Pacquiao V. Mayweather Jr. , Boxing finally got something right

If the promise holds up we will be seeing this must see fight in March 2010 Hello boxing fans, the fight weve been drooling over for the last three years is finally going to happen. The most intellegent, egotistical, loud mouth, bad u know what, has finally put his money where his mouth is. Floyd "money" Mayweatther and Manny "pacman" Pacquiao have agreed to terms on a fight to take place in March 2010. I am a known MMA enthusiast, but I still wouldnt trade a PPV like this for any MMA superfight ever. The self proclaimed king of boxing is finally going to meet his match in the phillipino nightmare, of Manny Pacquiao. I have gone over and over on who would win this fight, but I just cant come up with a sure winner.

First you have Floyd Mayweather, Hes never been defeated as a pro and is the smoothest counter puncher in boxing history. He's been in the ring with some of the greats and has always layd the hammer down on them. No matter how many times its been said that this is the fight where he loses, somehow "Money" is always up at his best and conquers his opponent normally in a devastating fashion. Yes alot of people hate his outside thug life he lives, but the guys a fighter and you have to respect that. He shows up at every fight and puts on a performance for the crowd. Floyd Mayweather has been doing this since he was 4 years old. Hes been groomed to be the best and thats what he has done. Regardless of what happens in this fight I hope people dont forget about what this guy has done, and what hes been through. Mayweather Stuck with boxing all through his life and its paid off for him, and for that I am envious.I hope he can win this fight, but hes up against a machine in Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao has been on a mission over the last 4 years destroying all comers. I tip my hat to him. I never imagined after that war with Juan Manual Marquez that he would come this far. I give him his due. Hes a spurr of energy and if Floyd can keep his pace slowed it will be in his best interest. This guy just throws punches from angles that nobody sees. imagine being the guy in front of him. I cant. He is very relentless and if he smells blood he will attack. Hes a finisher of fights and that could be in Mayweathers favor, because ive never seen a guy counter punch like Mayweather can. So Pacquaio must keep a great pace, but cant over do it and rush because then it could be lights out.

This is going to be a war and if you cant find $50 then your out of luck, i would be selling my blood, my sweat, my hair, whatever i could just to buy this fight. Its a must see for any sports fan. I will be up front and center watching with my dad (well his ashes) and I will be remembering the great fights of the past and looking forward for this one to become the greatest fight of the present and someday the past.

My Top 5 as of right now assuming some may come out early. #1 Tim Tebow/Florida/SR 6'3, 245

* Yes I am going to say it right here and right now this guy is the best player in the draft regardless of position. Tim Tebow has shown over and over that he is a leader on that field, his motivation and drive to excell is uncomparable to any other player in the history of football. When the combine rolls around its going to be a shame to watch his talent level be dissected and critisized by all the drils he will have to complete, but the fact of the matter is that he is a winner on gamedays and you cant measure that in drills or practice.

#2 Sam Bradford/ Oklahoma/ RS. JR, 6'4, 225

* Heisman trophy winner in 2008, injured shoulder this season, and is expected to leave college early. He has the most upside out of all the QB's in this class, but he doesnt have alot of experience, its going to take 2-3 years until he makes a big splash in the NFL, but hes got the ability to succeed. He showed his toughness in OU's runnerup performance in 2008. I think his skill level will be way higher than Tebows during the combine, but I still think Tebows nack for winning gives him the nod.

#3 Jimmy Clausen/Notre Dame/JR 6'3, 220

* Probably the most complete QB in this class, he's got great poise in the pocket, but I think he's a litltle Hollywood, and could become a huge bust in NFL. He's been in trouble for drinking on a few occasions. He's been punched outside a bar too, and he's still in college. If he can get his head on straight then he probably will have a good NFL career, but once that money rolls into his pockets, and the fame he'll get, I dont think he'll handle it well. But we'll have to wait and see with him.

#4 Colt McCoy/ Texas/SR, 6'2, 215

*Very good player, hes going to be a solid QB for maybe 6-7 years in the NFL, he will get a team too the playoffs. He's not a risky take in the 2nd round. You know what you're going to get with him. A good passer, runner, and durable. He handles pressure well, He can lead a team. The Rams could really use him, he'll mesh well with Jackson and theyd be a force for a few years. ..

#5 Dan LeFevour/Central Michigan/SR, 6'3, 230

* This guy could be like Big Ben, hes a winner, and hes very mobile, coming from the MAC its hard to say because of his opposition, but Hes very good out there. He can run and pass, the combine could move him ahaed of McCoy and Clausen, but we'll have to wait and see how he performs there. Very big guy too.

Honorble Mention:

Tim Hiller/Western Michigan/Sr, Max Hall/ BYU/ SR, Zac Robinson/OSU
google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad); Can the Cotto v. Pacquiao main event help bring some credibility and respect back to the sweet science I admit I am a huge MMA fan, and i will definitely watch more MMA fights this year than the old fashion "Sweet Science", but its weekends like this that makes me remember sitting with my late father watching the Hearns/Hagler, Leonard/Hearns, Hagler/Hearns fights, and even when I was older getting to watch the greatest trilogy in the Gatti/Ward fights, and the unbelievable out of nowhere slug-fest of Corrales/Castillo 1. It will definitely bring a tear to my eye this weekend when two of the three best welterweights in the world go at it in the square circle. The heavier Cotto whose only loss is to the hands of Antonio Margarito, who by the way was busted for having an illegal substance in his gloves in his next fight which really makes you wonder if those cuts and bruises all over Cotto's face were from legitimate punching power, against the amazing speed and power of Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao who hasn't lost a fight since 2005 to Erik Morales, whom less than a year later he dismantled in the 3rd round. I was going to go through this and explain a fight comparison defending my opinion of why I believe Cotto will come out of this the victor, but I dont feel my opinion or any one's opinion really matters when it comes to a fight like this, the only thing that matters is that we get to witness true experts of there profession battle toe-toe to see who is better. Please if you are a boxing fan tune into this fight because you don't get to witness fights like this every year. \

My pick even though it doesnt matter: Cotto wins via 12 round unanimous decision, even after being knocked down twice in the first three rounds,.

Now there is a way to ensure we get to witness one more great fight like this next year, we all know after the winner is declared we are going to have to witness a war of words between the winner and hopefully his next opponent Mayweather. So to Floyd "money" Mayweather if you plan to be ringside to witness this great fight please bring a pen and a contract and jump in that ring afterwards and sign the dotted line saying that a fight between you and whomever is standing next to you as the winner will be fighting next summer to show whose the best. That way we don't have to wait a week to find out which one of you went home and thought about the fight and backed out. Lets make them sign the contract in the heat of the moment, when both are on national TV. Neither ones pride will let them back out at this moment with the spot light on them.

My top 5 NFL Running Backs of all time

The NFL has had great running backs, but Adrian Peterson will become the elite  I've been watching a lot of Minnesota games this year and no its not because I want to see a grey haired, high noon cowboy at QB. I have fallen in love watching Adrian Peterson play the game of football. He outruns every player on the field week in and week out, but that's not just it. If you try to take him on with a tackle up high he will just run you over. I watched him literally find a guy 3 weeks ago and run at him so he could give him a stiff arm. The guy just amazes me every week. He can dance around you or just plow you over, it depends on his mood. I bet there are Safetys out there that dont even want to try and tackle him.

This leads me to my Top 5 backs of All Time and I wonder which one i will have to kick out when AP is done tearing through the NFL.

The top 5 #5 Eric Dickerson, Total yards  13,259,  4.4/ypc 90 tds

* Very dynamic back who ran very tall, making it known that you dont have to be 5'9 to fit through the smallest of holes. i think he was 6 ft tall.

#4 Emmitt Smith, Total Yards 18,355, 4.2/ypc 164 TDS

* The NFL all-time leading rusher. He had an outstanding offensive line through his career, which I feel is why he isnt worthy of the top spot. He was a hard runner who could run up the middle on defenses all day long.

# 3 Jim Brown, Total Yards 12,312,  5.2/ypc 106 TDS

* He would have held many more records had he not cut his career short for acting. A monster out there on the field who just ran over anybody in his path.

# 2 Barry Sanders, Total Yards 15,269, 5.0/ypc 99 TDS

* I grew up watching this guy. You knew if #20 was playing then be ready for a show. He would make 1 yd loss's look amazing. ive never seen anything like it (until now) He could of had many more TDS if the Lions would have put him in on the Goal line situations, but they didnt. Also he danced so much once he ran out of his shoe, and hurdled over 5 chicago Bears once too. He retired way to early, thus giving up his shot as the best back ever to play the game.

# 1 Walter Payton, Total yards 16,726, 4.4/ypc, 110 TDS

* OK I always thought Barry was better than "Sweetness", but I started watching old films of this guy and I was mesmorized, with the explosiveness he possesed  and then to all of sudden be able to change into a slasher out there, was just pure scary. He had it all, and I now know why Barry retired, it was because he felt that record should be Paytons forever, but of course who new Emmitt Smith would stick around another 5 years and break it anyways.

If you havnt had a chance to watch Adrian Peterson, then you are missing out. He carries the intangables of every single player I listed, and he uses them well. If he stays healthy then the NFL rushing record book better get ready for a new name in 10 years. Keep it going AP you are making football fun to watch for me again
